Richard Valdez founded RMC Consultants in 1990. Since that time, he has leveraged his leadership, strategic planning, and operational expertise to focus the company’s offerings in the field of Environmental Services, including environmental plans and studies as well as environmental remediation and construction management. At RMC, Rich is called upon to mentor staff, and advocate for their individual and collective success as their careers progress. Employee retention is a core value and the average length of employment by our staff is over ten (10) years.

Under his leadership, RMC was named to the Colorado Biz Magazine’s top 50 Minority Businesses in Colorado in 2013. Rich has worked in the environmental industry since 1987 in program and project management for CERCLA and RCRA investigations for the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Department of Interior, Department of Agriculture, the Small Business Administration and with a variety of private industries.

Rich is a Certified Environmental Specialist and Professional Geologist. He holds a B.S. in Geology and Geochemistry, and has an MBA (Finance) from Regis University.

A native Coloradan, Rich is passionate about giving back to the community and actively supports a number of local non-profit organizations supporting the arts and education, including the Daniels Foundation, a College Prep and Scholarship Fund.
